MCS NAMED FINALISTS AT THE CONSTRUCTION NEWS SPECIALIST AWARDS

While we didn’t take home a trophy on the night, being named finalists in not one, but two categories at the 2026 Construction News Specialist Awards is something we are incredibly proud of.
MCS was shortlisted for both MEP Contractor of the Year and Training Excellence, placing us alongside some of the most respected specialist contractors in the UK. These nominations recognised two areas that sit at the heart of our business: delivering exceptional projects for our clients and investing in the development of our people.
Over the last decade, MCS has grown significantly. From a £3.9m turnover business in 2017, we are forecast to exceed £102m in 2026, while continuing to expand the number and scale of projects we deliver across London and Southern England. Our project portfolio has grown from 20 projects in 2017 to a forecast 65 projects in 2026.
However, growth has never been measured purely in financial terms. We have worked hard to build a business that is known for its culture, commitment to quality, investment in people and positive impact on the communities we serve. From apprenticeships and professional development programmes to industry placements and leadership development, creating opportunities for future talent remains a key part of our long-term strategy.
Being recognised nationally by Construction News is validation that the approach we are taking is making a difference. It reflects the hard work of every individual across MCS, from our project teams and engineers to our apprentices, operational support teams, clients, supply chain partners and wider stakeholders.
Awards are never the goal. The goal is to deliver excellence for our clients, create opportunities for our people and leave a positive legacy through the projects and communities we support. However, receiving industry recognition along the way provides an important opportunity to reflect on how far we have come.
To be recognised as finalists in two national categories is a fantastic achievement, and one that every member of the MCS team should be proud of.
