SUSTAINAIBILITY
A mission to make a difference
At MCS we recognise that our social, economic, and environmental responsibilities are integral to our business. We aim to demonstrate our social value commitments through direct business action but more importantly, in collaboration with our customers and supply chain. Our social value strategy ensures we can make a positive difference.

Social Value Efforts
To ensure our strategy incorporates the key areas of social value required by our customers, we have formed our approach by using the themes taken from the Social Value Portals ‘The National TOMs’ model. The model is supported by our delivery methodology which is available on request.
CHARITY INITIATIVES
Here at MCS, supporting charities and voluntary organisations is one of core values as a business and over the years, we have supported a multitude of charities from local causes close to our offices to causes close to our customers hearts. In 2022, we raised our single, largest sum of money for the Grand Appeal – Bristol Children’s Hospital totaling £81,844.94 by tackling The Croatia Challenge, cycling 200km across Croatia. The amount was raised via sponsorship from family, friends, customers and our supply chain and the final amount was donated to the appeal to continue the improve the care of young patients. Local to our London office, we worked closely with the Royal Orthopedic Hospital and donated a total of £13,650 to cover funding and goody bags for their patients. We also had ‘feel good’ stickers made for each of the goody bags.
In total in 2022, MCS raised a whopping £134,239.79 for charities across Bristol and London and donated £23,900 to our customer and supplier charities. Continuing this monumental effort, in 2023 we have planned another cycle challenge this time in Majorca raising money for the grand appeal as well as numerous social events including a 5-a-side football tournament, a raffle and a race night with the aim of raising even more money than last year.
Mental Health World Cup
Some of the MCS Ltd team took a trip up to London recently to take part in The Mental Health World Cup at QPR’s Loftus Road Stadium. The MHWC is the UK’s leading charity 5-a-side football tournament for the fight to prevent male suicide and this year we were proud to be one of the main sponsors as well as taking part.
Launched in 2012, the MHWC raises vital awareness and funds for the charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and other mental health initiatives. It has become a key fundraising and social event for the construction industry, where suicide rates are three times higher than the UK average.
Over the course of half a day, teams battled it out in a 5-a-side spectacular at QPR’s home ground, in a bid to be crowned Mental Health World Cup champions. All teams had around an hour of playing time on the pitch and at least four matches against nations from around the world.
MCS were also lucky enough to be one of the main sponsors for the event which saw over 300 players take part.

Croatia Charity Bike Ride!
Well what can we say, what an experience we have just had taking on the Mountains of Croatia! 12,000ft of climb over 3 days of riding, these elevations were harder than we could of all expected but the Team dug deep to overcome. Croatia is a stunning island which offered beautiful scenic routes for us to discover.
The support from our Supply Chain, Suppliers & Clients has been fantastic, from attending fund raising events, such as MCS Race night, donating prizes for the MEGA Tech Raffle & Advertising of the on social media platforms & across multiple site. We were also pleasured that representatives of ISG & Structure Tone London Joined us in Croatia!
With Everyone’s kind donations to date we have raised a massive £74,000.00, we have another 13% to reach our goal for the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal.
