Heart of the community
Since 1948, The Abbey Centre, a community charity based in Westminster, has been a cornerstone for supporting local residents. Offering a variety of essential services including a food bank, employment mentoring, legal advice, business coaching, and inclusive clubs and classes for all ages.
In alignment with our shared commitment to social impact, equality, and community wellbeing, MCS began collaborating with The Abbey Centre, alongside tructure Tone, to extend a meaningful impact to the people of Westminster.

As our social value team grew, so did our capacity to deepen this partnership. Through sustained engagement, our London Social Value Manager began working more closely with the Abbey Centre community.
Employment Mentoring and Beyond
One of our most impactful contributions has been the provision of employment mentoring services. Our London Social Value Manager dedicated time to guiding community members interested in careers in construction. By helping individuals enhance their CVs and improve interview skills, we empowered them to pursue fulfilling job opportunities, elevating their quality of life.
Her growing involvement with the Abbey Centre community has made her a trusted mentor and an integral part of their initiatives. In 2025, we are further expanding our support by launching workshops tailored for the community and local businesses. These workshops aim to strengthen skills, build resilience, and foster meaningful connections in Westminster.
